Lately when I am texting on my Droid 3 and I am using the QWERTY keyboard, I have noticed that while I am typing the text, a period is added sometimes when I do NOT hit the period sign. Also when I hit the space bar it is not spacing the words. And after the periods it capitalizes the word. I will give an example: Hey, how are. Youtoday? This happens all the time when texting.

I was told to go to settings, keyboard, multifunction, and uncheck prediction, but I did that and it still does it. Is this a glitch and is there a quick fix for the problem? This just started happening...............

Does the device have a physical or touch screen keyboard?

It is a slide out QWERTY keyboard, not touch screen. It is a Droid 3

My husband and I have the droid 3 and they both do the exact same thing. We haven't figured out what the deal is with it either but it's not just you!!

I suspect the magnetic strip under the keyboard is going flaky. I had a Touch Pro that did the same thing and luckily I was still under warranty so it was replaced.

A temp fix is to take your thumbs to roll over and and press ALL the keys at the same time for 30 seconds or so, to get the keys and the magnetic strip closer to each other. That worked for me for the time I had to wait to get to the store and get a replacement.

It still does it. Don't know what the problem would be.
