How do you transfer pics from your Droid X 2 without losing the quality?
Once you're connected pulldown the notification area --> Tap 'USB Connection' then tap "USB Mass Storage"
On your workstation you will probably see 2 drives, it's usually the highest letter of the two. Once in there you're looking for DCIM --> Camera
Transfer through USB cord and mass storage mode to the computer.
How are you trying to transfer the pictures now?
depends how many to transfer. for a few, i email to myself in groups of 20 meg.
I've been playing around with a piece of software called 'Wondershare MobileGo'
Aside from the cheesy name it works pretty smoothly for a backup to workstation solution. Works via WLAN or USB. Has some pretty nice features.
They're in the Market or you could read more here:http://www.wondershare.com/android-manager/
why bother with a 3rd party app if it needs a usb, why not just drag/drop from card to pc.
I like having more than one suggestion/option for tasks I need to accomplish, don't you? It does a little more than just let you copy photos. :smileyhappy:
certainly if plan "a" doesn't work, op wanted to know how "how to", not options with 3rd party apps.
For a couple of files I will use email to send them to myself.
I will also transfer files over wifi with the Estrongs File Explorer and setting up an FTP server with my laptop. File quality doesn't change.
I've tried the USB method, but I can't find my pics. I've gone thru every folder that comes up, but my pics aren't there...
BELIEVE IT OR NOT---
I HAVE NOT TRANSFERRED PHOTOS YET.
I HAVE 700 PHOTOS TO DO SOMETHING WITH.
CAN I PUT THEM DIRECTLY ON A DVD? OR SHOULD I TRANSFER TO COMPUTER AT THIS TIME?
ALSO WHEN I TRANSFER--DO I LOSE PICS ON MY SD CARD?
THANKS

Whether or not you 'lose' them from your CD card depends on what you do. If you copy them, then no, they will be in both places, if you move them, then yes, they will be gone from the SD card. You'll have to put them on a computer in order to burn them to DVD.
