Droid X2 opinions?

My local Verizon salesman is trying to talk me into the Droid X2. When I search for info on this forum I find a lot of threads stating problems, but just want to make sure: for those of you that have the Droid X2 - are you happy with it or no? and why.

Thank you for reaching out to the community about their opinions on the Droid X2. Even though I am an employee of Verizon Wireless, I simply could not resist responding to your question. As a proud owner of the Droid X2, I absolutely LOVE this device. I owned the original Droid X prior to the Droid X2 and I can share from my experience that the Droid X2 has a noticable speed difference than the Droid X when comparing native functionality. I'm a fan of large screens so the 4.3 inch screen that the device have is great for text messaging, as I have large fingers. If you plan on using a lot of data enabled functions and apps then I recommend investing in a spare battery. Data functions use more battery power than voice functions. If you decide to go with the Droid X2 then congrats, as I'm am more than happy with mine. If you read any of my previous postings, you'll discover that I own quite a few devices so if you have any questions about another model then don't hesitate to ask...

I know it has been a month since your post, but since I don't know if you purchased a droid x2, I would like to respond. I have had one for a couple of months as a replacement for the droid x - which was replaced once for not charging, then replaced with the x2 with the replacement failed to work. I must say that I would not have purchased this phone. It reboots in the middle of applications and freezes to the point where the battery must be pulled to restart. Since it isn't a phone of my choosing, I don't know if I have any recourse with Verizon, but I am going to find out. I certainly don't want it replaced with another just like it. The random reboots are very annoying and there are other aspects of the device that I don't care for as well. I actually liked the droid x - my husband has one and he still like it and, thankfully, it is still working - however, it is a replacement for his orginal x that failed to charge.

I, too, am having the same issues with my Droid X2.

I began with a Droid X, which I immediately had to trade in-store as the speakerphone malfunctioned. My second Droid X didn't last long (charging issues, random shut-offs, lags, freezes, etc.) and I am now on my 4th device (5th, if you count the one I traded in-store in the beginning) - a Droid X2. All replacements have been refurbished devices (aka some else's previous issue-laden devices). They've all had the same issues, with this Droid X2 being no exception. I'm so done with this phone and am kicking myself for not going the iPhone route. I'm not due for an upgrade until NOVEMBER and I'm not sure how I can last that long, limping along with this device. I hope you didn't get this phone!!!!! Reconsidering my switch from AT&T to Verizon...

I switched from AT&T with an Iphone 3gs to Verizon , hoping for a better signal and got the Droid x2. It's a piece of trash. I've had it one month and it freezes up and reboots itself right in the middle of what ever you're doing. It's so annoying. It kicks itself off right in the middle of a song while streaming.And force closes on every app. I hate it!!!

I had an X2 for a year. In fact it's sitting on my desk - you want a great deal on one? Like the other replies in this thread so far, with the exception of "proud owner", my X2 rebooted itself several times a day. I did full factory resets. I removed virtually every app. I replaced the micro SD card. After a full reset it would behave itself for a week or so, then it would go back to rebooting. Verizon sent me a replacement, which I very much appreciated. It worked flawlessly for over 2 weeks, and I was so excited! I had come to dread that "Droid" sound more than you can possibly imagine. Then guess what? The replacement started crashing and rebooting itself just like the first one. This happened without any new app installs.

Sorry Verizon, but I would not get another Droid X2 now even if you gave it to me.

The X2 is garbage.

It would be tons better if Verizon/Motorola send it out with an unlocked bootloader so third party developers could FIX its issues but with the device being encrypted like it is it's near impossible to fix.
