Favorite contact keeps disappearing

I have a new Driod Eris and it correctly synched with my google contacts. I've added 5 contacts to my favorites and one of the 5 keeps disappearing after a few seconds but the other 4 remain. The one that keeps disappearing is my wife which is unfortunate. Is it something in the synch function that is causing this? Any ideas?

I haven't seen this behavior, but I suggest you try logging into your Gmail account from your PC. Make sure she doesn't show up twice or anything strange, and put the "favorite" lable on her contact from the web site. Give it 5 or 10 mintues and see if that change is reflected on your phone.

I'm guessing that maybe your initial sync was interupted when the phone was initially being setup, and that might have caused some problems. I had an issue with my very first Android device (HTC Hero) where only part of my contacts synced and I couldn't get the rest to sync up. I think it was due to me recieving a phone call during my initial setup. I ended up doing a factory reset, but at the same time (just because I was "down" anyway) I happend to log into Gmail and combined some of my duplicate contacts and set up some lables, customized some Google Voice messages etc. while the phone was getting a bit of a charge before actually doing the reset. I can't say for sure if it was a matter of me cleaning up all my contacts and organizing them that made the difference, or the factory reset, but I'm guessing it was the reset. In your case, it might just be the one contact giving you problems, but it's a lot easier to see "what is going on" as to your contacts with the online interface vs. trying to see it on your phone.
