For several days, my AOL e-maiks were not appearing on my new Samsung Stratosphere. I went to the store, the salesperson said my AOL accounted had been deleted and she set it up again. Now the same thing has happened again. Help?
My AOL email stopped working all together. I couldn't send or receive email with my Strat. I called VZW customer service. They told me that if I was using app killing or battery saving apps, that could be what was causing my problem. I was using both and uninstalled them. That didn't fix the problem. Here's what I found that worked. Go to the settings menu, then applications, then manage applications, then all (at the top), then touch the preinstalled email icon (envelope with green @), then clear the data and cache. By doing this you will have to reinstall your email accounts, but this worked for me and my AOL email was back in business. Before I figured this out, VZW customer service suggested the I use a different email client. It's called K-9, and you can download it from the Play Store. K-9 gives your much more flexibility in setting up your email accounts. I am running K-9 and the preinstalled email client at the same time, and found that I received my AOL email quicker,by several minutes, with K-9 than with the default email client. There is a down side to using K-9. It uses about 9% of the battery, whereas the preinstalled mail client uses none.
