Upgrade Question- Data

My wife and I both have Android 2 Global phones and we are due to upgrade. We share a North American 1400 plan with both having unlimited data. We plan on getting either Droids again or IPhones for the next 2 yr contract. I apologize if this question has already been asked but are we able to keep our exact same plan for our next contract or is there something about losing unlimited data? Do we have to switch to our data plan?

Never really heard of this plan so can't really EXACTLY tell you. But if this is a separate feature on your plan then yes it will go away and you will be changed to tiered data.

If it is literally embedded within your plan (Alltel) then for the time being no you will not lose unlimited data.

You can tell if your data is embedded into the plan if you activate a basic phone and your bill is reduced in price. If it stays the same then it is not a separate feature and it is embedded in the plan (Alltel).

From what I understand though Verizon is phasing out the Alltel Data Network as well.

I've had this plan for about 10 yrs, it's also been called Nationwide plus Canada. We have this because we split the our time between US and Canada and this allows us to call both country's numbers with no roaming. Our data is not Embedded so I guess we will be losing our unlimited Data.

If you don't want to lose your unlimited data, you can pay full retail for your new phones (or just keep the phones you have and not upgrade).
