I am in Longview, Texas, in an area where I normally have 5 bars. Now, I have no cell service at all. I can connect to wi-fi, but no calls, texts, or voicemail. I have an iPhone 4. Anybody else have this problem or know of a solution?
*228 option 1 should activate your phone.
Have you reset network settings or done *228 option 2? If that doesent work try option 1. Network settings is under general settings. Do you even get a 0 that means your getting slow data signal?
Jonny, I am in Tyler and my 3G went down hours ago. Maybe a regional thing? I don't even get the "o", just bars. I will try the *228.
Thank you Gina! Resetting Network Settings didn't do it, but calling *228 did it.
I'm also in Tyler and have been having this problem since yesterday afternoon! The weird thing is we have 2 other iphones in my household and they are fine!
*228 option 1 seems to have helped for now.
Yeah, I reset the network settings. That didn't do anything. I don't have any service at all, so I can't call *228.
Sorry, I guess I didn't really understand the process. I looked on another forum and saw that I had to dial *22801. That got me into the activation server. I don't know why it wasn't working with just *228. Thanks for your help though!
I am also having similar issues in Longview and Kilgore. My iPhone says "Searching" and eventually "no service". I was able to call Verizon using a landline phone and they submitted a ticket to fix the issue. I was told the issue could probably be fixed in 2 days at the earliest. Verizon seemed to be unaware of the issue so I suggest calling Verizon from a landline and telling them of your issue. It seems to be influencing iPhones only as other people in my building without iPhones have full bars with the Verizon service? Maybe if more people call... the faster it will get fixed?? My speculation is it is actually within the software of the phone...
Didn't see your response until now johnnymorris but I tried dialing *22801 and selecting option 2 and my phone is now working. Thanks!!
Thank you Gina! Resetting the network settings to factory defaults (under General" did the trick!
It has happened on 2 of my phones. One Samsung and one iPhone. No resolve
I am so sorry to hear that you have no service on either of your devices. When did this problem start? What are the cross streets and city of where this is happening? Is this issue happening indoors or outdoors? AlbertoR_VZW
*228 Did NOT change a thing!
I only have service inside. NO service outside. Virtually NO service traveling from home to town since last week. Had good coverage re same for years.
WHEN is Verizon going to admit to THOUSANDS of people something is wrong? Have Verizon stock? Dump it.
I am changing providers this week. I am DoneDoneDone! You can have your Note 10 Phone too!
i am in staten island, ny. i can call but cannot text or connect to cellular data. Anyone else in staten island have this problem?
