LG Ally Visual Voicemail Question

Howdy all,

I'm new to this fancy-shmancy Smart Phone stuff, so bear with me. I just got an LG Ally, and I love it, but I am frustrated with the visual voicemail application - it seems every time I get a notification that I have a visual voicemail, I go to listen to it and I get a message that says "Message is not downloaded yet." Eventually it lets me listen, sometimes hours later ... shouldn't I get the notification after it's been downloaded? Why tell me it's there if I can't listen to it? And what if it's an emergency? I got a message this morning around 9:30 and it's been half an hour, and it still says it's not downloaded. Is there a way to speed up the downloading?

I haven't used the visual voice mail. I use Google Voice, which gives you the same capabilities with no monthly fee. It's really handy. http://www.google.com/googlevoice/about.html

You might want to contact Verizon customer service. I just got an Ally as well and I just received my first voice mail using visual voicemail. I had a call that I let go to voicemail and the message was there right away.
