Error when sending non-iPhone users a text

Early this morning my text messages to non-iPhone users stopped going through suddenly. I get an error and the little red exclamation mark next to the message appears saying it was not delivered. My messages to verizon iPhone users are going through just fine and I checked with them and it appears that they are having the same issues!? What is going on?????

Since the iPhone uses a different system to send and receive SMS and MMS I would guess that something is causing a issue with the handoff process from the iPhone system to the standard setup that other devices uses. You may want to contact CS and report this issue and see if they are working on a solution.

I have a friend that has a ATT iPhone and has seen this issue also recently so I am starting to think this is a possible a restriction on iPhones servers settings more than Verizon's issue but it wont hurt to report this issue.

I have also tried restarting the phone, resetting the network and calling the *228 option 1... none of these things have helped

If you have wifi turned on try turning it off and seeing if messages will send. If the will, try turning it back on and sending again. Although I have never had this issue on my 4s I recall seeing some say for some reason this worked for them. Not sure if it will help but it's worth a try. Also, not sure if all messages sent on an iPhone uses a different system as one post stated...I may be wrong but I think that only applies to the iMessages and not the standard sms/mms messages.

There is a setting to not send to anyone but iPhone. Text to non iPhones uses non apple system it uses reg verizon server to my understanding. iMessage is apple server and data. I get that memo to and Verizon blames signal.

Did you make sure SMS is truned on (so that it gets sent as a Text Message when IMessage is not available)?
