Trying to access voicemail through icon, says Loading. Please wait.

I have the LG Lucid phone and today I tried to access my voicemail through the icon on my task bar, my apps, shortcuts, etc. I got a blank screen stating "Loading. Please wait..." I have looked at settings and can't find anything that might need to be changed. However, when I call my voicemail with *86, I can actually receive my messages. I did restart my phone to no avail. Is there any special setting that needs to be changed? A few days ago, I had to do a reset to factory data. In doing that, could this may have caused something to prevent me to see the voicemail screen? Any help is much appreciated!:smileyhappy:

The icon, I believe is for the voicemail APP, Visual Voicemail, that carries a subscription charge - it is not the same as your *86 standard voicemail.

http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=55911 shows the icon (is that what you are seeing?) and http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=56168 gives details on activating Visual Voicemail. If yo uonly have standard voicemail, then : http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=55976 is how you access it.

I have used the voicemail icon for standard voicemail for over a year with no issues and then 2 days ago I starting having the same problem of "Loading. Please Wait". Currently it mostly works again, but when I get the Loading message I press the menu icon on the bottom of the phone and it takes me back to the standard voicemail screen. I think I may have pressed "Subscribe" by accident and it is trying to get visual voicemail started. I'm not sure how to tell my phone I NEVER want visual voicemail, so may have to suffer along with it trying to load intermittently...sigh.

Had the same thing happen to me. Called tech support and they had me go to settings, then apps. then search under the "all" tab for voicemail. Then had me do a force stop and clear data. Nothing changed. Was told maybe it was because I was calling from my phone that it didn't work. Told me hang up and try again. The tech said he was sending a text message generated from his e-mail to respond back if it still did not work. STILL DOESN"T WORK. And never received the e-mail and it has been 12 hours. Still can get to voice mail though by dialing *86. He did say I was not subscribed to visual voicemail.

I'm sorry for the issues that you are having with your voicemail. Let's get you back up and running. Which make and model device do you have? Does the same thing happen when you click the icon? How long has this been going on for?

We definitely want to help you find a solution, sjbrowser. What model phone are you using? Are you able to dial *86 to access your voicemails? Did you recently make a change to your phone or update an application related to voicemail?

Same problem:

Accessing on Samsung S5, using the VoiceMail reel-to-reel red icon

it ALWAYS takes 3-5 seconds for "Please wait while we check your account information"

and sometimes it spins (for a minute or more) until timeout and then gives the 9005 error message.

I do not have and do not want verizon visual voice mail.

I use the red icon because it:

(1) signifies that i have messages waiting; (2) is an easy one-touch (albeit wait long) way to dial *86

If and when the VM screen does come up, then it's no problem to touch CALL VOICE MAIL

and VM access works fine and instantly.

I'm surprised that this issue has smoldered for over 2.5 years without a response for how to disable the

check for subscription and the nuisance delays encountered. Add up the minutes in a year waiting on this

time-waster, used several times a day.

It may be that this VM APP is just a toy and not meant to be used UNLESS you are subscribed to VVM.

If that's the case, why did the in-person sales rep enable it for me in the corp-owned verizon store?

The app is called Voice Mail not Visual Voice Mail.
