"Andy" the android.....

Can anyone answer a question for me.  I have the HTC Eris and while I love my phone, I like others am setting on the edge of my seat for 2.1.  The question is not about the 2.1.  It is about "Andy".  You know that cute little android that pops up when you turn the phone on.  It is one of the factors that I personally like over the Droid.

The question is... Once I upgrade to the 2.1 (who knows when that will happen), will I lose "Andy"?  Or with the start up remain the same.  I saw a Droid the other day that had the "forced" download of the 2.1.  He said it was from the Nexus.  I did not like it.  If you wanted the opening screen from the Nexus, get a Nexus.

the one constant thing with the upgrades for the android devices has been that eventually everything will change.

 

The unlocking feature has changed, some think for the better some think for the worse.

 

I doubt we will lose the iconic character android as it is the most identifiable thing that makes us android users unique.

 

but the one great thing about the android operating system is that there is the opportunity for a young, up and coming, designer to create a program that will allow us revert back to some of the things that drew us to the Droid.

 

so it disappears, ask a programmer if they can re-create it, who knows, you could be speaking for 10,000 other users who didnt want to bring up the subject.
