Another Bluetooth Issue for the Droid RAZR Maxx operating Jelly Bean!

I just received a phone call from some Verizon Wireless employee to address my bluetooth not working with my car anymore since updating to Jellybean. I just LOVE his recommendation! Call your auto maker and see if they have updates for the cars bluetooth. The car is a 2011 Nissan Murano. I'm sure the bluetooth is fine in it, but If I have to acquire the 5 DVD update for the vehicle it will cost me an additional $250.00 paid to the dealer. THANKS VERIZON WIRELESS! Again I would like to revert the phone back to Ice Cream Sandwich. I would not have allowed the Jelly Bean update had I known all the issues I would have with bluetooth connectivity and the cost I would also face.

unfortunately it could have gone the other way, you had updated your bluetooth in your car and your cell phone would not work. You would then have to shell out a lot more for the new cell phone so $250 is cheap and it updates other things on your vehicle, does it not?

Many devices both home and vehicle and even work connections and home connections through wifi has been stated here in the forums. However these incidents are not widespread but sparce complaints.

It may be possible that you bring your cell phone and vehicle to the dealer and see if they can pair the two. Before you pay fo r the update cd's at least that may be a first step.

I hope it gets fixed.

You know I just read the other post from the poster.

My answer would be to original poster is to by a bluetooh earpiece or a wired earpiece to be able to talk and drive at the same time.

My Bose Bluetooth answers and makes calls from the device. Just press the button and say "Call, say the persons name or even call out the numbers" However it is around $150 for it now. It came down from $180 when I bought it.

The wired ones cost around $10-$30 in many stores.

If you want to revert back to ICS after the Jelly Bean update, I have read this cannot be done. You could go to one of the Android websites and see if anyone had reverted. My understanding is the new os overwrites the old.

You can also do a Google search on the issue of a reverse of the os. Or even a search of other people having bluetooth issues with those Mercury vehicles (what did you call it a Murano) never buy a Ford....They are riddled with problems. Google that and you will be amazed.

And I am sure other owners of this make of car have bluetooth issues other than Verizon phones.

I have two of those, both uncomfortable high end units. Car very comfortable and not does not work. I guess I will just dig deeper into my wallet...Verizon doesn't care because its not their wallet being raided.

It would seem its not just your Nissan (sorry I thought it was a Mercury by Ford my error) Murano that has these problems and its not just Verizon by all the cell phone companies phones. Google speaks about other car makes that lose bluetooth connections not just your brand of car, but your make seems to crap out for varied reasons.

also having problems with Jabra bluetooth speaker phone after update to JB. removed from phone, reset the Jabra repaired and still no good

The update is to blame, by process of elimination. I bought the Razr Maxx to replace a Droid X. I used both successfully with my J&M Audio bluetooth helmet (HS-BLU277EDRI-N103), the X for about 18 months, and the Razr from September until it updated itself mid-January. Since then, audio streaming will only work if I clear both devices, and then only one time (until I close "My Music", or Slacker etc). Once closed, the phone will only play audio through the phone speaker. On the "Paired Devices" screen, the helmet is shown with "Connected, no media". If I go into the settings for the helmet, both phone and media audio boxes are checked. The phone function itself seems to work fine. The following are the troubleshooting steps so far: 1) Soft reset 2) Factory reset 3) Replacement phone 4) Attempt at replacement with Maxx HD (same exact results) 5) Helmet firmware update (2 weeks and $60 in shipping) 6) Hours on the phone with Verizon and Motorola (who blamed it on each other) 7) System Version: 6.16.211.XT912.Verizon.en.us Android Version: 4.0.4 8) Updated again since then to 4.1.2 and Verizon 98.72.16.XT912 with no changes in behavior other than now it will not even work the one time. The helmet has and still will successfully pair and retain full functionality with iPhones, and my old Droid X running 2.3(?). The only factor that has changed is the upgrade to BT 4.0. I am told that it is backwards compatible but it is definitely not. Even the brand new Moto headset I bought last week, capable of receiving streaming audio, does not.

I'm having Bluetooth issues as well. It is connected to my car, talking like normal, when all of a sudden it switches to the handset. It still shows it's connected to Bluetooth, but I have to pick up the phone to talk and hear, or I have to switch to handset or speaker on phone then switch back to Bluetooth to get it working again. I have a Razr Maxx HD running Android version 4.1.2.
