Will Verizon honor the deliver by 9/21 for the iPhone 5?

I pre-ordered at 3am and the website said that it would be delivered by 9/21. Now I'm reading that Apple is overwhelmed and has promised delivery within two weeks and now I notice that Verizon is promising delivery by 9/28. What about the ones that ordered with the understanding that it would be delivered by 9/21? Had I known I had to wait two weeks instead of a week for the iphone I would have reconsidered ordering it online.

You should be fine. The new dates are for those who order right at this minute. By tonight, it may be another week later.

Since they do not control stock, I would think they would be bound by what Apple can deliver, which may be possible by the 21st or maybe not. That's the problem with doing a pre-order, there is always that possibility..

i pre-ordered at around 2:55am EST and still havent got a conformation email but my preorder conformation number is saying pending and people that posted there time is saying delivery on 9/21/12 any ideas why?

I called them about this earlier. I ordered mine around 12:15am Pacific time and I was told that if it said 9/21 then it should be delivered by then for me. I think it is being pushed back because of the demand and not enough phones to ship out to everyone on the 21st. This also has happened with Apple and At&t

What do you mean by pushed back mine was ordered before the 3:01am eastern (12:01PST) 2:55amEST to be exact and some people's are showing a delivery date in there conformation email and I still haven't got that... But when I ordered it did say 9/21/12 delivery on the preorder so your saying I'm good for 9/21 delivery?

I got a tweet response from VZW and they confirmed that if you preordered your iphone when it still said 9/21 it will be delivered ON or BEFORE 9/21

The reason you haven't received your confirmation email yet is because they are still validating your payment method. They do not send out confirmations until everything has ran through the bank and they are sure that you have given them a valid form of payment

I just spoke to a csr that called me after wanting to talk to a supervisor due to conflicting information. I was told NO ONE WILL RECIEVE THERE PHONE ON 9/21/12 it will be 2 days later and with the week end Monday at the earliest.... Take it for what it's worth

Well i just spoke to a CSR, chatted with a CSR AND got ANOTHER tweet saying they will be delivered by the 21st.

It will get delivered by the 9/21. I remembered last year when I preordered the 4S. I started at 3am (EDT) trying at the Apple site. When I could not get through after numerous attempts, I ordered through the Verizon site. I ordered 2 phones and it was quick and painless. I think I was back in bed by 3:15.

I never received a confirmation email and every time I tried to check the order status during the days that followed, I would always get the message that they could not find my order. When I called, CSR told me that I may not get it for a few weeks and that they had no more information than that. However, the Wednesday prior to the promised deliver by date, I checked my Credit Card activity online, and sure enough, I saw that Verizon charged me for the phones. Friday late morning, Fed Ex was at my door with my phones.

So, if it is anything like it was last year, do not worry. You will get it by your Deliver By date even though it looks like there is no activity with your order.

I remember last year calling a second time after I was able to check the status of my order. The status said "Expected shipping date: 10/14" which was supposed to by the Deliver By date when I ordered it. The CSR INSISTED that it will not ship out until 10/14. Well, she was wrong. I received it on 10/14.

Do not sweat it. You will get it on Friday.

Where are people seeing a "Deliver By Date"? I only see a projected ship date on https://preorder.verizonwireless.com/iconic/iconic/screens/IconicSearchInit.do.

My order was placed at 3:02am on the 14th.

The "Deliver By Date" that people are referring to is in the confirmation email that they received from Verizon. Hope this helps!

Still never received a confirmation email. So I guess the world my never

know. Not sure how they could have so many issues when they've done plenty

of pre orders in the past.

I ordered my IPHONE 5 @ 0630-0700 est and it was still saying 9/21 Delivery, I got a confirmation email almost immediately saying 9/21, I just checked the status and it is saying 9/21. I would say that if i am getting it then anyone who ordered before me is going to get it as well.

THis was also posted in another forum post, not sure exactly how good but guy says its his job to verify and that they are confirmed based on these timeframes for buying the phone:

Yes, I got an e-mail saying my order was cancelled and then another email saying that my order failed automation and I had to reorder. The internet order sales happen to not be open on Sunday so I have no choice but to wait until tomorrow to call and find out why the order was cancelled.

What does your order status say? I got that same email but that was because I ordered it twice and I had my first cancelled.

This is what I was told as well... and I'm quite upset about it. If I have not received shipping information, I will pitch a fit and make them give me one from the store on the 21st. That is the point of pre ordering!

I ordered at 9am at my local verizon store. the rep said i will receive it on the 21st or earlier...however when i got my confirmation it said that it will be delivered by the 26th so I don't know...I really hope that i will get it on the 21st

Wow! This has definetely been a hot topic of discussion. Thanks for the feedback from those that have pre-ordered in the past and have received their phone on or before the release. I just read that Apple has broken records and sold $2M in 24 hours. Perhaps this time is different and there isn't enough supply or man power to fulfill all of these orders and maybe they won't ship out until 9/21. I hope that is NOT the case. This is the first time I pre-order any phone and depending on how this experience goes will determine if I do it again. What is the point of pre-ordering if you can't get it the day of?? Especially when you hear that Walmart and Target were taking pre-orders and you could just walk into their store on 9/21 and walk out with your new phone! That seems faster and painless than this process especially when all you see is so much conflicting information from Verizon employees no less!!

They are shipping today through fed ex if u want to know if yours is shipping today keep an eye if your account, if it gets charged like mine and several others with tracking numbers did already it will ship today.
