Is there a catch for Verizon's University Employee 20% discount?

THis is one area where Verizon excells.

My discount is on the plan, the data and accessories. Its wonderful!

In the cases I'm aware of the discount on data does not apply if you have the tiered data plans. If you're on the share everything plan it only applies to the data.

I believe employee discounts apply on tiered data plans of $50 or more. At least they did when first introduced. Just was not available on the lowest tier of $30 for 2GB/month.

Numerous people I work with have a 19% discount on their cell plan but I keep hitting a brick wall when applying for my dicount...HELP!

I have already supplied my paystubs through a Verizon site that handles applications for recieving a discount but afew days later I called the person handling my case and he was at a loss for words...
