"Message Send Failure" when sending photo in text to iPhone5 on same account!!

My wife and I both have iPhone 5's and are on the same account with Verizon.

The problem is that whenever my wife tries to send me a text message with a photo attached, she gets the error "Message Send Failure". This only happens when she is trying to send me the text with a picture attached. She does not have any issues sending to anyone else, just me.

This is extremely frustrating and I have not been able to find a fix. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Makes sure that she has mms messages enabled in settings and that she has her mobile data turned on

Call customer service and have them reset the text and picture message feature on their end.

If the number was recently ported over from another carrier it could take as long as a few weeks to get full functionality of all services as sometimes they try to be sent through the other carriers system as some functions may still be associated with that number

One of the joys of having a smartphone is being able to exchange pictures flawlessly. And considering you've got a top notch phone on our network, we'll let's transition this issue into a resolved status so your wife doesn't continue to receive these failed message errors.

Now, thanks for all you've done thus far with making sure that MMS is enabled and for including details that it seems to only be an issue when she sends a picture your way. So, let's go a different route. The first thing I'd like to recommend is force closing the application. To do so, have your wife double tap the home button twice. Open apps will now open. When she locates messaging, hold it down until it starts shaking in it's boots and select the minimize key so it closes. Next, turn off the device and remove/reinsert the SIM http://vz.to/SyEX4x . That will resync the device with our network for optimal service. Go ahead and power it back on and give it a shot now. I hope this helps and please let me know how it goes.

the remove and reinsert of the SIM card does not work for me.... I'm still not able to text some people...Does not make any sense

I had a similar problem with getting a "message send failure" when I tried to send photos from my iPhone 5. After trying several suggested fixes with no results, I noticed that all the photos I was trying to send were taken in HDR mode. Photos not taken in HDR mode, on the other hand, transmitted quickly.

I figured out that I could take a screen shot of an HDR photo (by pressing the home button and the sleep/lock button on the top right edge of the phone simultaneously) and send the screen shot as the photo message, rather than the original HDR photo. Presto! It works for me. I don't know why HDR photos won't send; maybe they contain too much data.
