"share everything" will cost me an extra $380 over my old nationwide 450 plan?

For 2gb of data? I have unlimited txt/data now and only average a whopping 12 minutes of talk time per month Sure I could probably stay under the limit somewhat easily, but throw in the cost of a phone plus this new upgrade fee and I'm pushing $6-700. Why would I want this? The online CSR insisted this was a better plan and that most people never go over 2gb, and I would get the benefit of the discount phone pricing. I may not have been the best math student but wouldn't it be better to just buy a phone outright and leave everything the way it is?

Existing customers DON'T have to switch to the Share Everything plans. You can add the individual tiered data plan to your existing plan and get the discounted pricing with two year contract.

Could you please break it down so that others considering this switch could see just how it is different?

Regardless, as Ann154 has stated, if you are already a Verizon customer, you do NOT have to switch to the Share Everything plan, If you currently have unlimited data, you could just switch to tiered data starting at 2 GB for $30/month.

That is over the life of the new contract. When I click upgrade device online I am only given the share everything plan options, which have the 2gb plans ;listed at $60. Verizon, best buy, radio shack, amazon, all the same in listing share everything as my only option. If i go to "compare plans" it lists my current plan vs share everything.

I asked an online CSR and was told to just go ahead and do the share everything plan and then call customer service later and have them fix it. I politely declined....

You should simply upgrade your phone at the discounted price and switch to a tiered data plan of 2GB at $30. If you want to keep your unlimited data plan, pay full retail price for the phone and keep everything else as is. Or, you could purchase a new phone from Ebay or somewhere else. Do not do a Share Everything plan. It would not be in your best interest. You may have to call *611 to get the tiered data plan, I'm not sure. Also, do not deal with a 3rd party retailer. Your best bet is to stay away from the stores and do this on-line and over the phone directly with Verizon.

Again, there is NO option to switch to a $30 2gb plan when upgrading device. when I add a new phone to my cart the only plans I am able to choose from are the share everything. I get this message.

As I said, you may have to call *611 to get the tiered data plan. Just call *611 and order your phone and tell them you want the tiered data plan of 2GB for $30 and NO OTHER CHANGES. Also, remember there will be a $30 upgrade fee.

PS: If you need more than 2GB, there are some other larger tiered data plans available, but I don't remember what they are. You can always switch your tiered data plan up and down later if you see you need more data.
