Total Equipment Coverage??

From the date of initial purchase, how long are we given to add total equipment coverage to our phone? I was told that we had at most, 30 days from purchase date?

I am buying a phone from my brother. He bought the Motorola Droid Razr 3 weeks ago, but did not want to get total equipment coverage on it. I would like to put the phone on my separate account, but am not sure if they will let me add total equipment coverage to it. It's within the 30 day purchase date, but it's just with a different account now.

No, the phone won't qualify for insurance when you activate it on your account. You will be the second owner and so even the warranty would be void. Warranty and insurance only apply to the original owner.
