Can anybody advise me on an inexpensive way for me to convert to a droid now, for I'm not eligible for one at $199.00 until mid June and would not want to pay the whole 550.00...
Check on Ebay they have alot of droids on there going for about 300 or so
I would just wait!!! From now until June, there are going to be at least 2 new Droid phones and for me, its worth it to wait...June is only 2 months away!
Thanks guy...ya know I'm retiring at 59 1/2 in about 44 days and I'm getting a little excited about having all my ducks in a row..Think I'll let the caffeen be for a while...

Congrats on your upcoming retirement. What better way to pass some time than with a new Droid!
If at all possible, I would wait too. Even if you know you want the Droid, the price may come down because of new devices coming out.
But otherwise, I ordered a new phone from an eBay store called Just Cellular, and had a great experience. There are many other good eBay stores too.

I just purchased a very gently used Droid off of someone I found on Craigslist. I paid $275. So far the phone has been great. I see that the new software upgrade is out there now. I am wondering if I should update right away or wait. Before the Droid I had a Samsung Saga which was a great phone until they did the upgrade, then it was junk. Had nothing but problems with it after the upgrade, and could not do anything about it.
JUST ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET THE ESN/MEID NUMBER OFF OF THE PREVIOUS OWNER BEFORE ANY TRANSACTION IS MADE. CALL VERIZON AND VERIFY IT IS STILL A GOOD PHONE TO USE ON THEIR NETWORK. IF YOU DON'T DO THAT FIRST AND THEN TRY TO ACTIVATE AND TURNS OUT IT IS BAD YOU ARE OUT OF $$$$. AND IF THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE IT TO YOU THEN MOVE ON TO THE NEXT SELLER.
