It appears that ALL Smart Phones have a failing in voice quality. The December 2012 issue of Consumer Reports (Pages 48-49) did some ratings on Smart Phones. Both Apple and Android phones (39 phones in total) from Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T were included.
As you may know Consumer Reports rates their Test Results using five categories as follows: Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, and Poor.
I was VERY surprised that no phone (Not Even ONE) received an Excellent or Very Good rating for VOICE QUALITY. That's 39 Smart Phones that, at the best, only have a rating of GOOD for Voice Quality and some only have a Fair rating. It's no wonder that half the time when I put my Smart Phone on SPEAKER the person at the other end of the call says that all of a sudden they cannot hear me very well so I have to turn the speaker off.
I don't get it because this is supposed to be, first and foremost, a phone and ALL the phone manufacturers seem to have forgotten to engineer EXCELLENT Voice Quality into their their Smart Phones.
