Can the widget be fixed?

i added a 'htc mobile network' widget to one of my personal screens on my Eris which i love having there. however, it only works when it wants to. i've noticed after powering the phone off then turn back on, the widget will work for a couple times then its done until i power off again. contacted HTC about it & they have no idea why it's doing that. does anyone know if there is an app to fix this intermitten problem? or do i nd to adjust some settings or something? plz advise.

Maybe Advanced Task Killer. I run it after I finish with any app.

i have advance task manager & use it every time but it still works intermittenly. is there a difference btween advance task manager & advanced task killer?

Maybe it's because you're using a task killer that you're having problems. They tend to cause more harm than good. It's Android, not windows.

I've heard all the arguments for and against and it's just a bad idea to have one. I had one for the months and got rid of it, my phone is much more stable now, and runs just as fast. It was actually slower with the task killer. Speed of the phone has nothing to do with how much free RAM there is. It has to do with free CPU resources and the tasks that are using the CPU. If your phone is slow, you have a crappy app that is robbing your system of resources. Uninstall it or configure it so it doesn't work so much.

We're so used to the old windows culture of more RAM = better performance. Not so with Linux/Android.

interesting. when i was looking at getting this phone, i did have 1 & only 1 VZW employee tell me not to put the task killer on b/c it was frying the phone (was his exact words). but svl other employee's said it is a necessary app esp if you want to keep your battery life. maybe i will uninstall it for about a week & see what happens w/ the widget & battery.
