iTunes could not back up the iPhone because an error occurred

I noticed that suddenly my iPhone 5 will no longer backup. The last backup was on 5/24/13. Now every time I try to do it i get this message: "iTunes could not back up the iPhone because an error occurred."

I've tried restarting my iPhone 5 and MacBook Pro numerous times. I've reset them, hard and soft. I even restored the iPhone 5, but I will I hadn't because my only option was to use the 5/24/13 backup to restore and I lost all my Memorial Day Weekend pictures. Not the end of the world, I know. But I would like to figure out what suddenly has enabled backups.

Help?

Oo wow! I know the importance of having your device properly backed up. We definitely want your information to be there when needed. Do you use iCloud on your iPhone to backup the device? Please head into Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup. Is iCloud Backup turned on?



To backup via iCloud you do need to be connected to Wi-Fi along with having your device placed in the charger.
