i really need to know how to forward my work email to my gamil account on my droid ireally need to know before tomorrow please help. Also if i answer email from my work on my phone will my gmail adress show up or my work email?
"Forwarding" depends on what mail system you are using at work. If you are using Microsoft Outlook and Exchange server, you can create a "rule" in outlook to forward your messages to your gmail account. I would suggest doing a "Redirect" instead of a forward:
If you forward the message, it will say every message from work is from YOU - if you hit "reply" it will go back to YOU... If you "Redirect", then it will show up as coming "from" the person who actually sent it, and you can simply hit reply.
Unless you have an exchange server, you will have to leave your outlook up and running for the rules to "fire"... If you have exchange, you can make the rule a "server side" rule, and you won't have to leave outlook open.. Most other email clients also have a similar way to create forwarding or redirects.
You *can* go into your gmail account and tell it to say it is from your work address, HOWEVER, if your work has SPF (Security Policy Framework) setup in your DNS records, the Google ip address will not match your SPF records, and many sites may reject your email because it will think that you are a spammer trying to spoof the "From:" header. I would recommend not trying this if there is any possibility that your company uses SPF records... Most mail servers (that are set up decently anyway) will not even bounce an SPF mis-match, it's just drop it into the big bit-buket in the sky.... you wouldn't even know who was not getting your emails.
If you work allows POP3 or IMAP access to the mail server, you can log into your gmail account (via web browser) and have gmail automatically check and download new messages from your work account - these will show up with a "Tag" saying they are from your work address. Unfortunately with this solution, Google decides when/how often to check - you can't set it or predict when it's going to check - but it's *usually* around every 15 to 20 minutes... I think it depends somewhat on how busy the Gmail servers are.
My employer doesn't allow rules for automatic forwarding outside of our network. I can forward my emails to my roadrunner account manually but if I setup a rule, it doesn't work, it doesn't matter if Outlook is running or not.
Can you access the exchange server via pop3? If you can, then you could use the method with Google accessing your work account from outside.
The other option it to use the non-gmail client on the phone. It has native exchange server support (again, if your employeer has that enabled through your firewall.)
You might need some security informatin from your IT department to get it working, depending on how strongly your company has the exchange server locked down.

If that was directed toward me, sorry for the confusion. I wasn't looking for help, I was just trying to show the OP that it might be their office that is blocking what they are trying to do.
My employer doesn't allow personal devices to touch our network at all. All devices have to come from them and must use the VPN.
