Droid POP3 Email Error

I am a problem retrieving POP3 email on my droid. The problem is that I can retrieve email exactly once for each account. Thereafter it fails.

 

Here are some facts:

 

1. This problem applies across all email accounts.
2. The only way I've found to fix it is to reboot. After rebooting the phone, I can again retrieve email exactly once for each account.
3. This problem occurs for both the stock mail application as well as K-9. K-9 at least is well designed enough to give me an error log. The log message is "host is unresolved."

I try not to tell everyone this but have you considered using Gmail and forwarding all your accounts to Gmail? Your phone is better optimized for Gmail, and you get instant notifications unlike the other refresh programs.
