thanks for posting. Bet many people will be happy of this result.
Am I missing something, or does the ROM version listed on the Verison document match the one from leak #3 (per android-info.txt file content)? If it indeed matches, would that mean that leak #3 is really the final version?
I will probably wait for OTA anyway now (I was just about to give up and install leak #3 anyway, but I was hoping there would be a way not to do a RESET, hence, save all settings).

it very well could mean that. it all comes down to now, how long can you wait? i could not wait on my last droid so i forced the 2.1 and never looked back cuz after waiting 3 days after the release was just too long for me.
bumping because people need to see this

I actually prefer the manual install over OTA. For some reason I see my OTA being disrupted by some wave signal like a microwave, or a radio playing, or...I don't know.
At least the manual install is there and safe
I've seen a manual update option mentioned... how does that work? I'm guessing it'll involve a link for the file download, put the file in your sd root folder, power off, power on while holding volume down, etc. etc.

Wow. For a guess, that was pretty darn good...
Who's definition of "soon" ? This week, month, year?
So how do we transfer apps, etc to the sd card and then back to the phone memory?
HELP!

Would be nice to get a more definite time frame than 'soon' ... they've been saying that since January.
Personally, I'm not holding my breath.

so its may 11th and still no update has anyones phones got the update if so share im really excited for this.
where is the manual update ??? can i do it now ???
I can't wait for this update!! I hope it's available today or tomorrow.
Someone said that the moto droid update was pushed out 1,000 on the first day; 0 on the second; and 200,000 every subsequent day. I wouldn't be suprised if they did this again.
Liz from Executive Relations just called me to say that the update is rolling out today and that all Eris owners should have it by the end of the week. I wish I hadn't had to email back and forth with six different customer service reps to finally get that information, but at least now we know.

Others are hearing two weeks @vzwsupport is telling people that. So It might take a little longer than that.

I assumed it'd be similar to the rooting process. Hopefully a link comes for the manual update shortly after the first round of OTA updates hits... unless of course I'm one of the first in which case I won't care :-P
Hurry....please.......Can't....hold.....out.....much.....longer........
I got the update this morning!!!!!
Does anyone know if I did the manual install of the 2.26 ROM, will it still send me the new 2.36 OTA?
lritch wrote: I got the update this morning!!!!!
SAME!!!! right before school I saw it and I was excited. I was going to post pictures and tell, but I didnt think anyone would believe me.
don't get why they don't just put up a link for everyone..This is ridiculous waiting from some **bleep** message to show up on my phone!!!!!
