I just switched to Verizon on June 15th.Before I switched I checked to make sure that I had coverage in the area I live for 4 months out of the year. I pinpointed the exact location and found 3g coverage. I was happy with the service even though it was sketchy in some areas.About June 25th my coverage stopped. I have since found out that the tower that controls that area was one of the towers that as of June 25th no longer supports Verizon. Something about Verizon being given 3 years to upgrade their own towers before ATT no longer allowed Verizon to use ATT towers. I feel like I was sold out. The representative at the Verizon store did not iform me that I would no longer have service in that area knowing full well that is where I needed it. Now I am stuck with a phone service for 2 years and will be unable to use it for 4-5 months out of each year when I live in that particular area.
Does anyone know when or even IF Verizon plans on upgrading or installing their own towers? I am terribly dissappointed.
