Voicemail will not work

I have an iPhone 4s on Verizon Wireless, I switched to Verizon a little less than a year ago and have not yet gotten my voicemail to work. I call *86 and press # but have no clue what my mailbox number is. I have never set one up and I have talked to Verizon sporadically since the Summer and no one seems to be able to help. I have tried every number I can think of as the mailbox number but none of them work.

You Mail

Google Voicemail - with your current cell # or a google voice number

I used You Mail for many years, and recently switched to Google Voice using my cell # and it seems to be working well. Google Voice does transcription and sends a text/email when a VM is received as part of the free services - it's extra with You Mail. Both You Mail and Google Voice allow you to download the sound file to keep any VM you want.

I have a data connection, the other night I talked with Verizon support again and they told me that they noticed something that they said could be causing the problem on the back end, but I would have had to shut my phone off for them to work on it and I did not have another phone to talk to them on so unfortunately they could not do anything.

Please call *73, then *900 and then *920; you will not hear anything, but 2-3 beeps, no additional calls or steps needed during the call. The last time I called customer support they had me dial those numbers. I did that and went to the voicemail as the instruction said but it automatically dialed the voicemail number and gave me the same message as before. It did not show a voicemail set up screen.
