content filters not available

I want to turn on the content filters for a Samsung Galaxy S4, but get the message:

The cell phone associated with this number is not compatible with the

Content Filters service. If this is a 4G LTE device please check back at

a later date as we are currently working to make these devices compatible.

Go to Support/Device to see if a software update is available for your device.

Does anybody know when they will be available on the S4?

Hi Pamela_VZW,

Sorry, but that doesn't help. I already know where to go to to turn on the content filters. For all but one of the phones we have on our account, I can set the filter. But for the Galaxy S4, it says not available, with the message I quoted in my original posting.

I have 2 young kids and I truly understand your concerns regarding content filtering! Lamentably, not all devices are compatible with this content filtering feature. We do not have any information about when of if your device will be compatible with content filters in the future. Its been many months now since the 4G LTE devices have been available. Although other (older model) lines on my account have the filtering service, my (newer) VZW BB Q10 is disappointingly lacking this option. When I spoke with VZW tech support, they referred me to Blackberry. However, this issue is apparently not manufacturer-specific, but related to all your customers with 4G LTE.

I can understand that new OS technologies are incompatible with the old filtering software. But why has VZW not updated or developed newer software that is compatible and can provide this service?? To me and my circle of colleagues, this option is important and I'm more than saddened that VZW has seemingly not stepped up to the plate on this issue.

Hoping that someone in Verizon can shed some light on this issue. Thank you.
