Hi All, I just signed up for Verizon yesterday and am waiting on my phones to arrive next week. I just switched from Sprint because their service is experiencing too many issues in the last few months so much that I am pretty much without a phone. I looked at the all of the carriers around and Verizon seems to fit what I'm looking for....although at a much much higher price
. But I guess you get what you pay for huh?
Anyway I am in the metro Detroit area and have a couple of questions. For anyone in the metro Detroit area how has your service been? Is it consistent, reliable and are your speeds as advertised?
Second question is on the data use. I checked my bills with Sprint and for 3 smartphones and a tablet, on my family plan we use about 4G's a month. Now the sales rep for Verizon set me up with the 15G's per month based on what he believed the average use of the 3 smartphones and 1 tablet would be. My question is, does Verizon assess data usage differently or something? I'm not sure if that's even a valid question, but what I'm trying to figure out is if my average use with Sprint hasn't exceeded 4G's per month, why do I need 15G's?
I know that during the weekday's, and since I had unlimited data with Sprint, I use the Tune-In radio app a LOT! I would have thought that it would use more data than what is being shown on my bills with Sprint, but the 4G's is about what is used on average and I've been with Sprint for about 8 years. If we keep up the same type of usage on Verizon does that amount to more? I guess that's why I was asking if Verizon assesses data usage differently.
Any advice is much appreciated. Thank You!
