2.1 doesn't handle .PNG files?

New Ally here, and I see that .PNG files are heavily compressed

...in all browsers except Opera (which doesn't zoom much).

.gif works fine with full res on zooming.

 

Anyone have a fix for this? LG csr told me it may be 2.1 and fixed in 2.2. Anyone with 2.2 check this? (Is there anyone with 2.2?)

 

This is surprising as .PNG is increasingly popular on net.

 

It is also suprising that my old EnV Touch worked perfectly with all .PNG files.

What I've newly discovered, is that only LARGER .PNGs don't show up right. I wonder if it is a memory limitation (even within OS or browser).

shows up fine.

 

I don't think 2.2 will fix this, perhaps it works fine on HTC Ultimate D. Anyone?
