Not receiving texts from US Cellular friends only

I am not receiving texts from US Cellular subscribers only. I have been told by my nice customer service people at Verizon that it is probably a US Cellular issue. This just isn't sitting well with me. I do seem to be receiving texts from other carriers (Boost, Verizon, AT&T). My iphone 4S is updated as far as I can tell. I've only had a couple of weeks and I have yet to receive any of the messages US cellular people have sent (so it's not like they are delayed, etc. I just do not receive them). I am very frustrated and do not want a different phone. The reason I changed to Verizon FROM US Cellular was for the iphone 4S. Feeling very disappointed and frustrated. Love all the other features of this phone, but as a phone (which is the purpose of the thing) it has been sub standard. Anyone else having problems receiving text messages?

I have tried : turning imessage off. rebooting phone. updating network etc (options 1 & 2). I can send messages to these same people and they receive them. They can call me, but when they send me texts they never reach me.

Not sure if it will help, or not but maybe try setting up a Vtext nickname. yourname@vtext.com

It may route differently threw Verizon to your phone so this carrier can get threw.

I am having the same problem. I just switched to Verizon one week ago. I have a Samsung S III. I was on the phone with support yesterday for an hour and a half. They put a trouble ticket in so hopefully they will fix this! Irritating!!

What type of devices do they have? Are you able to receive their picture messages?

This is most certainly a US Cellular issue. I can receive texts just fine from Verizon and AT&T customers. I have the Motorola Razr M and the US Cellular people have various phones (Motorola Electrify / Samsung GS3 are 2 that come to mind).

This is yet another reason I have just switched to Verizon after being a longtime US Cellular customer (10+ years).

I am having the same issue on one of the phones on my account. I moved from us cellular 1 month ago. the second line i had with us cellular i moved Monday. that phone is now unable to receive texts from us cellular customers with 3/4 g phones ones connected to us cellular at 1x are able to send texts to it.I have no issues at all getting texts.... both phones are samsung S4s

Any fix to this yet? I am having the same problem. I can send texts to anyone, but do not get replies/new texts from US Cellular customers. Picture messages work tho. My girlfriend, on the same account, has no problem. She has an iPhone 4s and I have the new Motorola Ultra. Replies/ new texts from any other carriers work. I recently ported over from US Cellular and was getting texts from them for about 3-4 weeks, then all of a sudden it stopped. Have been thru many (3?) levels of tech with Verizon and have even talked to US Cellular. Really getting frustrated as most of my family and friends have US Cellular. This better get resolved soon. Sorry for such a long post and hijacking the thread.

have you try to reach your old carrier port center to make sure port out was completed .sound like mix service to me.if you are still getting text on USC device .customer service might not have more info on port.try to reach usc and vzw port center to find out if anything still pending...good luck hope that help

I'm having a similar issue. I was prepaid with T-Mobile and recently bought a Verizon iPhone 4. I had my old number ported (or at least thought so) but I still cannot receive texts to my new phone that aren't from a Verizon carrier. They still go to my old one. Please help as I don't plan on carrying two phones around for the duration of my life.

I never like to herar our customers are having text issues. Let's dive into this and get this addressed. Is this a prepaid account? When did you port in? The port may take 48 hours to complete. Are any other features not working?
