Rebate on Galaxy S4

It seems to be a common thread - problems with getting Verizon to honor their verizon rebate.  In good faith, I purchased a Verizon Galaxy S4 phone, with Verizon's assurance that I was eligible for a $50 rebate.

Today, I get a card from Verizon updating me on the status of the rebate and indicating that it was denied for "Invalid Purchase Date", when in fact, you could only purchase it on the approved Verizon release date.

To add to this, Verizon took my 4GB for 2GB bonus plan, and dropped me back to 2GB.  I called this in and was assured I would hear a response back one way or another from the agent - no response.

Until now, I have felt that Verizon was on top of its game.  Now, I am just another frustrated user.

Very interesting.  I purchased a Galaxy S3 and was offered a $50 rebate as well.  I filled out the form properly and sent all the right things; no problem.  Today I get an email saying I am being denied the rebate because of an "invalid purchase date".  I posted a reply elsewhere regarding this because I think it is very sneaky to have a Verizon salesperson standing in his store and even filling out the rebate form for me and leaving only a few boxes marked for me to fill in once I get home and cut the UPC label off, etc., only to then be told that I don't qualify for the rebate because of the date I purchased?  This is ridiculous.  I was not as if I was in a hurry to get the phone that day so I apparently should have waited for the magical qualification date; and who questions a purchase date when the very person you are buying it from is standing in the store telling you you qualify for the rebate?  I, too, am frustrated by the rebate thing.  I have not taken this further with Verizon because I am away and the paperwork is home, but it is still frustrating nonetheless.  If you cannot trust the person selling you the phone to be knowledgeable on things like this, it doesn't say much about Verizon caring about customers.  You shouldn't have to fight for something that was advertised as being free to you in the first place.
