Moving to Canada, ETF?

So I called Verizon today and talked to a supervisor regarding my very unfortunate circumstances and having to move to Canada because of it, and she's trying to charge me $500 for both of my lines in order to cancel it. She told me that Verizon offers services in Canada but I would be chaged differently and they don't even offer coverage at the new place Im moving to. I informed her that and she said sorry, you're still responsible for it because its outside "Verizon's Footprints". But she just said Verizon DOES offer services in Canada? And under the contract I signed, it said that if Verizon cannot provide me service, then I can cancel my plan with not having to pay a fee.

please help!

Did you confirm yourself that there was no coverage there? And how?

Verizon Wireless would be roaming in Canada on the local carrier's towers. They have plans for customers to roam on Canadian towers for a special rate. Otherwise the roaming charges would be higher.

When does the contracts end for each of your lines on your account? The ETF is for basic phones @ $175 minus $5 per month for each month of the contract completed or for smartphones @ $350 minus $10 per month for each month of the contract term completed.

If the rep quoted $500, you either have multiple lines or recently renewed the contracts.

Is there someone you could transfer the account and phones to that are rremaining in the USA? If so, you might want to consider completing an Assumption of Liability to transfer the billing responsibility to someone else. There would be no ETF involved if you transfer the account ownership.

Plus you can not have a Canadian address and have VZW Service.
