Dear Verizon

Dear Verizon,

If you are unable to provide an international phone worth my money by the end of June, I will be forced to leave Verizon for AT&T.

This means, in order to keep me as a customer, you need to offer an android or iphone that is dual GSM/CDMA. I do not want another Windows phone, or a RIM phone, or any other operating system other than android or iphone.

I have been loyal long enough. I do not want to switch to AT&T. I have been there and experienced their horrible service before, but my hand is being forced by you, Verizon.

Might it be simpler and faster to call them? The internet may be useful also. As an alternative, you may check out Blackberries.

we are not verizon, we are end users with a few customer service reps thrown in for good mix. there are a few world phones offered by verizon, and more are no doubt on their way.

The OP said he doesn't want RIM/BlackBerry.

But as the prev poster said, you won't find much resolution here, as it's just a user forum.

I want a global phone with a really good camera, but I don't see that happening either unless I go to AT&T.

While this is going to come off mean, I'll have to say it:

While I agree that an international Android phone is awesome and something that could only bring in more revenue for Verizon...

Just who are you to be demanding your own money against Verizon? What exactly makes you so important that you wrote a threat concerning your business? If you were under the impression that 'loyalty' really means 'extra perks and rights,' you were under some delusion that's very wrong.

Your hand is not being forced by anyone, just by your own self-righteousness thinking that you have some kind of right to threaten the people who give you the best service. You're biting the hand that feeds you. Get over yourself.

Long story short, go to AT&T and get whatever phone you need. You'll regret it.

It may be harsh, but Mike's right. +1 on this. This is just like the other threads threatening to do whatever to Verizon. Either poop or get off the pot. If you think ATT will be better, then by all means, go hit your local store and sign up. They may even have a special or something where they give you a credit since you're coming from Verizon. You never know until you try. Until then, it's just talk and talk is extremely cheap - particulary in a user forum on the internet.

And even if you do, with 80 milion customers, I doubt they're going to lose sleep over it.

Not that I agree with the OP at all but are you saying that your first LTE phone will be a world phone? Does europe have LTE built out? I thought LTE was for data not for voice? I am so confused I am going to go hit wikipedia and get my learn on.

what they are getting at is that, since LTE is a GSM technology, instead of CDMA, all 4G devices will be GSM (at least for data)

4G technologies would enable IP-based voice, data and streaming multimedia at higher speeds, compared to 3G. Most European Communication Companies plan to have converted to 4G by the end of the year and a few other by 2012.

But back on topic. Just because a phone is GSM doesn't mean it is international capable. Some AT&T phones are some aren't it depends on the frequency range they are registered for.
