This evening I received a text that my a payment had been credited to my account. Weird. I call verizon and find out that someone hacked my account and used my saved checking account info to pay my overdue bill---and had two new iphones added to my account. In NY. The fraud dept seemed to want to blame me-that some how I authorized someone to use my account. I recieved no notice via text that new lines had been added or that nay changes had been made to my account-other than the payment notice. I have not lost my id or had any other account hacked. The person who signed up for these phones didn't even provide a correct birthdate-yet they were able to walk out of radio shack with two iphones on my account. Now i have to go get a police report so I am not charged for the cancellation fee for these two phones. I have been a verizon customer for over 10yrs. I will be leaving verizon ASAP!!!! obviously there is a problem with their security or protocol with radio shack that allowed this to happen. Then they want to burden me with getting police report as if I have nothing else to do with my time. I spent over an hour on the phone dealing with this-and since I live in a rural area in TN I get to haul my kids to the police station over 30 minutes away to deal with this mess. thansk so much veriaon-you just lost a long time customer.
