For the last month or so, I have been receiving a series of odd phone calls that I would like to stop, but I'm not sure of the best way to proceed, and thought I'd look to the community here for thoughts....
I get a call, but the caller ID isn't a "normal" phone number, it only has 2 or 4 digits.
When I answer, and say, "Hello", it takes the caller a few seconds (longer than what I would consider normal) to respond.
The caller asks to speak with "Jake". I'm not Jake, and I don't know anyone named Jake.I explain this to the caller, and they hang up immediately.
Sometimes, I ask to be removed from their call list. They again, hang up immediately.
Sometimes, I ask to speak with their supervisor. They again hang up immediately.
How can I get this company (I'm assuming it's a telemarketing firm of some sort, but the caller won't identify themselves for me to be sure) to stop calling me? They can't seem to understand that this "Jake" person is not associated with my phone number. I don't want to block all unidentified calls, as this seems rather like throwing the baby out with the bath water, but I can't come up with any alternatives.
Thank you all for any thoughts or guidance you can provide.
