Outgoing CallerID display

I just made the switch to Verizon from Sprint.  However, I noticed that when I call my clients, friend, etc. on their landline, it does not show my name on CallerID like my sprint phone did.   So, I called today and was informed that Verizon does not show callerID info...WHY Not?  Every other phone service in the world will display your name on Caller ID.  This is very frustrating b/c when I call some of  my clients from my cell they don't answer because they don't recognize the number and assume it is a sales call.  My Blackberry is my lifeline and use it all day   

 

Does ANYONE know a way to fix this??  Was I told correctly?

I have heard that the information you have is correct.  It is up the specific carrier to update the databases from which those caller ID records are generated and transmitted, and Verizon chooses not to update it.  You can, and should, let them know that this functionality is important to you, but they will have to change how they operate for it to work.
