Paying twice for service

even though I'm supposedly in a 4G coverage area I don't get service at my home. Verizon's solution to this ? They want me to buy a network extender to better supply their service. I thought I was already paying for this service. This is nothing more than attempting to make me pay more for their in ability to supply me with what I'm already paying for. It's this reason that my neighbors switched to AT&T, I'm soon to follow unless they do something about it.

Service is not guaranteed in all locations. Obviously ATT has a tower near you when VZW does not. If me I would have switched during the first 14 days you noticed you did not have any service.

Now you will have to pay an ETF

As budone has stated, coverage is not guaranteed in all locations.

As to your neighbors switching to AT&T, I would think it more likely they thought cellular service in their home is more important to them then coverage in other areas. They may think differently if they are in another area where they would like to have service and it is unavailable.

While I currently have cell service in my home, that was not a deciding factor in my choice of Verizon over the other providers. I looked at the overall footprint of the service. In the past I have been with Sprint(wife's phone for a period because she liked their phone offerings over Verizon. Turned out she was not all that happy with availability of service with all of the dead areas). I have also been with AT&T(and their predecessor Cellular One) before switching to Verizon because I received service in more areas with Verizon.

For service in the home, I rely more on a landline than a cellular connection.

And incidentally, you would not be paying twice for service. The network extender is a device. There is no monthly service charge for the network extender.

If you consider paying for a device as paying twice for service, wouldn't you then actually be paying 3 times for service??? Once for the actual service contract, once for your phone and once for the network extender???
