Maintain Unlimited Data - Share Upgrade in Account. Need guidance!

Hello everyone!

I know so many threads have been made about keeping unlimited data. I have read them and started the process already, but now looking for additional guidance.

We have 4 phones on our line. One of those lines is my sister's iPhone, and another is my iPhone. She recently upgraded her iPhone and signed a new contract, which got rid of her unlimited data.

Following instructions from this board, because I wanted to upgrade my Iphone and maintain my unlimited data, I went online and chose to upgrade to a new iPhone on HER account. The phone came in the mail and now I am just looking to confirm the next steps.

Do I now activate it on her line, and then deactivate it and activate the phone on my line? Just looking for specifically what I should do next. Thank you!!

Did you upgrade on one of the other two lines? If so, you should be able to call customer service and activate the new phone on your line. You do have to call to do this, though, because the MEID/SIM was assigned to the line the upgrade came from.

I upgraded on the line of the person who already has a tiered, non-unlimited data plan. Can I directly upgrade the phone onto my account without activating it onto the other line first?

I believe so, but you need to call customer service from another line to do so.
