Hello, I am deaf and cannot use the phone and am trying to find a away to cancel my account without having to make a phone cal, is there a way I can cancel my account online ? Thanks.
Can you go to a local Verizon Wireless corporate store and cancel your account there?
The official options to cancel an account is (1) over the phone with customer service, (2) cancel in store, or (3) Port your number to another carrier.
Thanks for reply Ann. I was hoping to having to avoid a 90 minutes round trip to a Verizon store. I guess that is what I will do tomorrow morning. Certainly Verizon has the technological capabilities to make it easy to cancel online. Don`t know why Verizon is forcing customers to have to cancel by phone or in the stores other than trying to keep as many accounts as possible by making it " harder " to cancel. There are millions of deaf or hard of hearing people who have limited communications and it`s sad that Verizon does not make efforts to make it much easier online. If we can place orders or open an account with ease, you would think they would also make it just as easy when someone wants to end a contract or a month to month account. Oh well, not much we can do about it, thanks and have a good day.
I think Verizon Wireless has a TTY number you can use as well.
I don`t have TTY, the equipment needed to use TTY on a phone line is too expensive for me. Online chats with Verizon representatives is only for placing orders, not making changes. Since you made mentioned of TTY, I am now looking into seeing if I can use TTY online without the need of equipments. Thanks again. You been most helpful.
