Question About Device Payment Plan

I was wondering if anyone has bought an iPad through this program? I was told that they run your credit when you wanna do this. My question is do you need great credit for this program? I don't have great credit but have been with Verizon now for 5 years and have always made my payments on time. I was told that I qualify for the edge program if I want to upgrade my phone. So if I qualify for the edge program should I qualify for the device repayment program.
