Is there a downside to upgrading at Best Buy?

There are currently 4 lines on my account and I want to upgrade 2 of them to the HTC One which is currently $150 less at Best Buy than it is using Verizon directly. I will not be changing my plan, just upgrading 2 devices. Is there a downside to going thru Best Buy? Thanks in advance.

The only downside is that Best Buy might not be able to keep your exiting plan on it as they may be set up to switch everyone to Share Everything. I woudl verify that before you do anything with them

Hey there triumph1,

I am excited to see that you are upgrading to the HTC One. It is an awesome phone and I am thinking about getting my hands on one myself. Best Buy is an authorized retailer of ours so there is no downside to purchasing a device through Best Buy. Keep in mind that since it is Best Buy they may have certain return timeframes and store policies, but there is no downside.

The reason for my post is that the HTC One at Best Buy is only $49 vs. $199 direct from Verizon.

Verizon Wireless doesn't match third party retailer pricing.
