I recently renewed my contract because I have always been happy with my service with Verizon. They used to be very good about solving any problems I had and I had good cell phone service. Well I have been calling and chatting and using any other method I can find to try to fix my service because I have completely lost the ability to use my phone at home. I have 3 phones on a plan and none of them work in my home anymore. I call customer service and they ask me if I have another phone to use. Does anyone else think it is ironic that Verizon customer service reps are asking me to please use a phone other than my Verizon cell phone because they can't hear me? I think that would make the problem pretty self-explanatory. They have worked for 2 years but they don't now. I can very rarely make calls from home and they almost always drop. No one can understand me because my reception here is so terrible now. This has been going on for 3 months and instead of getting any improvement it is just getting worse. I already pay for 3 phones on a cell phone plan and I would never have chosen a service that didn't work at home because I was not going to pay for a house phone on top of it. Now that it doesn't work my husband and I are both missing calls and sometimes voicemails and text messages don't even make it through until we leave the house and go somewhere with better reception. I have been trying to get this resolved and the only solution I have been given is to buy a signal booster for 100-200 dollars. I don't think so. Verizon's signal and service had declined and I will not pay for it to be fixed. That is the job of the company providing the service, not the job of the customer. To top everything off I haven't paid my bill from last month because I am still waiting for a reasonable solution. I get a "courtesty call" and when I told the girl I was speaking to what was going on she gave me attitude and hung up on me. Maybe I'm mistaken but I think the customers pay her wages, not the other way around. I have been lied to repeatedly in our local Verizon store and the kid is still working there and still lying to customers. The store in the next town over is the same. My husband has tried to call into customer service because I am tired of being bullied by them and they aren't going to get anywhere trying to bully him, so they just refuse to talk to him. Now I can't call customer service at all because it just repeatedly says "no associates are currently available" every time I try. Well that is nice, but the next phone call is going to be coming from our lawyer. We are fortunate enough to get free legal representation from my husband's union and he is a union steward. Many people won't fight these companies because the lawyer cost more than the benefits received but since I am fortunate enough not to be in that situation that is the solution I will be using. I paid the past due bill but there will be no more money given to Verizon until I can use my phones again. I really don't care at this point if they fix it or if they nullify the contract so I can find a service that works but one or the other is going to happen. I have completely had it. I have always been polite and very civil to everyone I have spoken to from Verizon up until this past week. There will be no more civility. I don't think any of the people I have spoken with would be very happy in the same situation and they shouldn't expect me to be. I would love to just have my service fixed and continue using Verizon but I will not pay the amount of money they charge for a service I am not receiving. More people need to start standing up for themselves where cell phone mega-companies are concerned. It is just completely out of hand.
