Social Engineering scam

Spotted other complaints on this well. A broken up message with the caller ID using the Verizon support's 800 number advertises $45 award applied against your Verizon account for going to this website. www.myverizon45.com This is a scam. I called the real Verizon support and verified this.

I got the same call today; telling me to goto www.myverizon45.com and the number was in my contacts as Technical Support. I dialed the number and the Verizon Support recording / menu was on it. DOES Verizon do this; or do they know about it?

I called Verizon support yesterday to confirm that it was not them and report the issue. They are aware now.
