Not receiveing texts from US Cellular customers 5 days after porting the number over.

I have switched from US Cellular to Verizon. I am glad i did, and all is well except for the fact that I STILL am not receiving texts from US Cellular customers. I have called the tech support several times and they always say "Wait another day" but with my work, "waiting another day" is not really much more of an option. Has anyone else had this problem after porting over a number and how long did it take to get it resolved. I activated my phone last Wednesday and i started immediately receiving calls to my new verizon phone and texts from every other company but US Cellular, which is important because most of my friends/coworkers have US Cellular. How long will this take or do i just need to get a new number and be done with trying to port the old number?

Last night I was transferred to the porting department and while i was on the phone the guy i was talking to called US Cellular's porting center and whatever they discussed or decided to do worked because withing 30 minutes of getting off the call i started receiving all the texts. So I am pleased. Thanks for the follow up. Apparently although the port was showing complete, US Cellular hadn't fully released the number or something. All is well in my world now and I am still glad i made the move to Verizon.

Is the US Cellular phone turned off and battery removed from the phone if possible? Call customer service and ask them to reset your text message feature from their end.

We want you to keep in touch with those friends and coworkers Alan72! I'm sorry to hear of your difficulties. It sounds like you have already been in touch with another support channel. What were the results of your last interaction? Was a resolution ticket opened? Were you advised that a new number would resolve it? Are you able to send messages or make calls to these numbers on an outgoing basis? What happens on the sender's end when they try to call or message you?
