They just sent me new phone and I have to send them my old phone back to them because my old phone is defective. I remember something that if I don't send them on time I'll get charge or something? What should I do?
Was there any paperwork that came with the replacement? Did you ask customer service?
Send the defective phone back.
You will be charged full price for the phone if not returned.... What should you do?
There should have been paper work, the Device, and a Return shipping Label to return the Phone One thing i'd suggest doing is go to Shipping store that deals with UPS or FedEX in your Town and have them Print you a Return Label that requires a Signature on Arrival and has small Insurance so if something should o cure with the phone going Back your covered..
I believe the USPS handles returned phones
Yea that's what i was thinking as well Bill :smileyhappy: but i thought I would add in FedEx just in Case And it's also good if the Shipping Label has a Tracking Number I forgot to add that into my Post so the OP can track the Package back) I done that when i sent a Battery Charger back to MaHa Energy it took only 3 days from my city to reach it's destination in California..
Yep they use the worst service possible to receive their returned devices. United State Postal Service!
You see a company as large as Verizon (Not as large as the government) uses FedEx to ship out the devices and accessories since the price to ship is cheap. Just to give you an example when I was still working and not retired, I had contracts with UPS and Fedex because we could ship packages dirt cheap. 40lb. package was $5 and our overnight account was about the same. With this you had great tracking and delivery stats were 99% on time.
However USPS had higher prices, slower delivery, and their tracking was total crap. They really cannot compete so I will assume Verizon has a return to vendor program with them. They do this to scam money out of the customer. Poor delivery stats and no real tracking ability, equals money fir verizon wireless. What customers don't realize is if they drop the package off and get a receipt for the return "they are not responsible for any loss or damages" it is the Postal service and Verizon that have to hash it out.
It would have been cheaper to use Fedex or UPS for return to vender program than that crappy USPS.
Delivery times varay by service selected. Any carrier who uses "Next Day" will usually arrive next day.
If "Two Day Select" (UPS & FedEx) then two days and then there is a "Three Day Service from UPS & FedEx" The postal service uses the three day service a Express Mail but its not really USPS overnight service.
Depending on where you live your total time in delivery transit can be one to five days. From NY to California its 5 days. To the midwest states 3 days, to the southern states it around 2 days and within the state its taken 1 day to get a ground package to the destination. Overnight Air is still overnight. I have sent documents to the UK and France and have seen them arrive in two days, and Canada or Port a Rico in one day.
Using the poistal service as a regular package service is sent Fourth Class Mail it can take 10 days to arrive to the destination and you pay extra for the tracking label "Delivery Confirmation" and it more than industry standards gets delayed longer or never gets there. I would never use them outside of a first class letter.
Every time I have had a delivery from Verizon, it has been through FedEx, including the couple of warranty replacements and their return packages.
That's a fantastic question, Finalblade. We do ask that you send the device back within 5 days using the USPS/ FedEx return label that is provided. If the device is not returned within 30 days you may notice that you receive a device non-return fee on your next bill. Please ensure that the device returned as soon as possible.Yosef_VZWPlease follow us on twitter @VZWSupport
