My house has always been a bad spot for phone signals. For whatever reason, inside and outside my house it is like a dead zone. My next door neighbor has no issues with cell phone signals, however they must all stop at the property line. I had purchased a $250 network extender from Verizon; it worked great--- for one year. Then it started to interfere with the calls. I could not hear the other caller although they could hear me. It was out of warranty, so Verizon told me to basically buy a new one. So,,, on top of the $100 a month I pay for my phone, and the $400 a month my exhusband pays for four smart phones for our kids, I have to pay $250/year to get a signal in my house for the $500 in smart phones we have. Thank goodness for wi-fi or the phones would be nothing more than paper weights in our house.
It seems as though it has gotten worse in the past 2 months. No explanation why. I inquired at the Verizon store and they could not give me an explanation. So, I cancelled my phone, I will be going to another carrier. I figured it is cheaper to pay the cancellation fee than to have to buy a network extender over and over to get cell service. (That makes no sense--if I am paying monthly for service, shouldn't verizon do everything to ensure I have a signal?)
I have so many dropped calls, I switched to texting, now I am over my monthly text messages. The guy at the Verizon store said there is nothing they can do. (Great customer service!)
So now I am eagerly awaiting for the four contracts to expire in a few months (my kids phones). I am going to cancel those as well and go to another service. I really cannot believe that we spend $500 a month for no service. Very sad. I am highly disappointed in the company.
Has anyone ever had luck with getting Verizon to do something about an area with no coverage? Ironically there are towers so close to my house, I can see them!
