Retrieving Older text

I am just curious if you can retrieve old text messages that you sent and/or received?  I noticed in My VZ account where I can pull up a list of texts for the month.  I need to find the  phone number I sent them to or received them from.   Is there a way to retrieve the message part of it?   I do have a court order and I'm trying to retrieve a text dating back to Sept/Oct 2011

Thanks for the info Stupefyn. Unfortunately we do not hold SMS for that long. With a court order, messages can be retrieved within 5 days. They are automatically deleted after that time.
