We have 5 lines on Verizon. My family has been a Verizon customer for over 10 years, never missed a payment, and we have been receiving HORRIBLE service. We had an upgrade coming up on January 16th, and I was going to upgrade to the iPhone 5s. The problem is, I'm going back to college before then (tomorrow), and won't be able to have a car, to get the phone in store. I wanted it BEFORE I left, especially so that I could transfer everything from my home computer onto it. We went into a store, and they told us (after we pleaded with them) that an early upgrade would "go against their contract with Apple". Mind you, we've been with them for TEN YEARS.... so a little favor would be nice. They said "call customer service, they may be able to work something out and overnight it to you." After being on hold for over an hour, customer service finally agreed to do it, and said the phone would arrive by Saturday. Not overnight, but 3 days later. Oh well, we thanked them, and at least I'd have the phone the day before I left. But now, it is Saturday, and we haven't even received a shipping confirmation. I sat home waiting to sign for the package all three days when I knew the FedEx people usually came. I called customer service, and the guy said it would "ship soon". "SHIP SOON"?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? When I asked if there was a way to cancel and pick up in store, he said no, unless I waited for the "date to reset", whatever that means. That'd be 2 MORE DAYS. I'll be long gone by then. So thank you, Verizon, for lying to us multiple times, and really "helping out" your loyal customers. Anyone have any experience with AT&T? Can't be worse than this service.. (And to think I was totally willing to drive 20 minutes to the store tonight or early tomorrow to pick up the phone.) SO fed up.
