The directions said to word it like a question so I did. Thanks to my old LG Versa for giving up the ghost and refusing to take a charge. I called Verizon and found out that even tho' I've been paying for insurance and extended warranty my phone is so old that all they can offer to replace it with is a phone I can go to Target and buy for 19.95...of course I could send the phone to Assurant and if they decided the scratch on MY OLD PHONE is bad enough they could charge me 99.00 for the replacement. The nice young woman that I talked to offered to knock a whole 25.00 off my bill because I'd have to pay 50.00 for the replacement any way plus a $30 upgrade fee. Of course I could upgrade to a totally new phone... I tried that a couple of months ago after getting lots of things in the mail and emails saying what a great deal Verizon could give me on an iphone. When I checked the web site I got no better deal than if I was someone who had never had an account with Verizon. After all why give a break to someone who has spent thousands of dollars a year with Verizon? So I thought I'd try to cut a deal with customer service and guess what? They couldn't give me a better price...but they are the ones who try to convince the customers that they've got this special thing that is going to save us money . I got a phone call last week from Verizon...they wanted to go over my contract with me to see if I changed plans if it could save me money...No way was I going to fall off into that BLACK HOLE called another 2 year contract. OH YEAH the nice young lady tonight did point out that I've been a customer since 2001. Thanks again to my poor OLD VERSA that has finally died....I will be replacing you....but not with Verizon.
