Terminating a few lines.

Currently I have a family plan with 5 lines. Through the T Moblie promotion I am thinking of changing my two kids and wife to them and keep me on Verizon due to reliability. However that leaves me with two lines. I would like to go pre-paid with one and the primary line (my line) I would like to become an individual plan. So what are my options. I also have unlimited data and would like and need to keep it. These plans are no longer found on Verizon's website but do they still exist?

You would likely need to cancel or "port" the non-primary line to Verizon's prepaid service - I'm not very familiar with how that process would work, but calling the prepaid customer service line would be a good place to start - 888-294-6804.  That would leave your primary line, which would convert to an individual account; you 'd have to choose either 450 or 900 minutes (there may be more options?) and a texting option, and you *should* be able to keep the unlimited plan as long as you don't purchase a discounted phone from Verizon or one of it's authorized resellers. So what are my options. I also have unlimited data and would like and need to keep it. These plans are no longer found on Verizon's website but do they still exist? They exist as grandfathered plans... which you can keep as long as you don't buy a subsidized phone.  You need to get your phones at full price or from a third party, private party.

You may get misinformed reps that don't understand what you want to do.  You would first have your three family members go to T-Mobile and port over their Verizon numbers.  That will automatically cancel their lines.  If there are ETF's to pay, T-Mo has claimed they are covering them.  I'm not sure how they are doing that - by paying VZW directly?  Or reimbursing you via gift card or account credit for the amount?  Either way, it will take some time for the accounts to be fully ported, and removed from your VZW account.  I would wait until that is done, and final before trying to make any additional changes.

Once those three are completely separated and off your account, then you can work on moving the non-primary line to a prepaid account.  verizon doens't seem to deal with multiple changes on an account at the same time...better to get one transaction squared away and done right before trying another.
